«©NCSX» When an alien invasion gets into gear, six boys are recruited to combat the nefarious threat from outer space. In any other genre of game, there'd be a cast of trigger-happy grunts who blast away in blazing action sequences. However, Scared Rider Xechs isn't a shooter nor is it a tactical simulation. SRX is an otome game or a boy's love adventure where the protagonist is girl named Akira Asagi and she's surrounded by six hunky guys whom she directs against the aliens. Similar to the male archetypes found in other otome games, the boys in SRX are chiseled, lanky, and have fine features that are almost feminine.

As normal humans, the boys wouldn't stand a chance against the aliens but they're capable of transforming into superhumans who have fighting skills and moxie. To allay suspicions concerning their super powers, the boys form a rock band which Akira manages. The story of Scared Rider Xechs is told through 13 episodes of intrigue and narrative that's sure to whet the appetite of otome fans across Japan.

In addition to the regular edition, NCS has also received the limited edition of the game which includes a Drama CD and a 64-page fan booklet.

Good Smile Company adds another toy to the Nene product roster - her first Nendoroid where she's bright-eyed, black-eyed, and sleepy-eyed all in one figure thanks to the magic of interchangeable faces. An small assortment of replacement limbs is also included so the figure may be posed in different postures.

«©NCSX» First there was the "Race Queen" in Japanese motorsport culture - busty model-types who appeared in racing venues to enhance the visuals. Next comes the "Beach Queen" which might be defined as follows:

Beach Queen \bēch kwēn\ (Noun) A high-ranking woman with social proof and a robust bosom who may be found (most times) at sandy geological outposts which abut the ocean.

The honor for the first figure to appear in the Love Plus Beach Queens toy series is Nene Anegasaki who's in the process of removing her denim shorts. The figure is sculpted to 1/10 scale and measures 16cm or 6.29" tall and an extra face is included to change Nene's expression. One point of articulation is located on Nene's neck so her head may be tilted. Preorders are welcome to ship in August 2010 at JPY3800 or US$46.90 from NCS.

TOYS One Piece Portrait of Pirates Neo-DX Jinbei - Preorder

«©NCSX» The One Piece manga/animation property has introduced fans to numerous characters who had cranky dispositions, heroic hearts, or odd appearances. NCS categorizes Jinbei in the "odd appearance" category because he's colored blue, blubbery, and has webbing on his hands and feet. As if that wasn't enough, Jinbei also possesses a face that only a mother could love thanks to the tusks that protrude from his mouth and Jin's perennial angry demon face. Won't easily find a smile on that mug.

Megahouse is inducting Jinbei into its popular Portrait of Pirates series of toys which is known for its build quality and well-sculpted forms. Jinbei measures 25cm or 9.84" tall which is roughly 1/10 scale since series creator Eiichiro Oda lists his "actual" height at 301cm. A crimson hippari is wrapped around Jinbei's prodigious girth which is tied together with a blue sash. Beneath the hippari, witnesses may view a few red tats that are etched on Jinbei's skin.
