Orders are welcome to ship on December 13, 2024. A Special Edition is also expected on Friday but NCSX is puzzled by the cost increase over the regular edition (JPY6800). The Special Edition is being priced at JPY14,800 and the only bonuses are a soundtrack CD, a pin set, and hologram stickers. Does this warrant an JPY8,000 premium over the regular edition? No.

PCE Turbo Stick - Import Sale Offer US$68.00

NCS Product Synopsis
Original Release in Japan: October 01, 1988
«©NCSX» Brand new and factory boxed PC-Engine Turbo Stick for the PC-Engine which was NEC's first and last joystick controller for their own console. NCS recalls the sentiment in Japan back in the day when joypads were looked upon more favorably than clunky joysticks which required a lap in addition to two hands. The Turbo Stick originally retailed for JPY6800 which we considered too high given the market situation in 1988. The stick looks like a plastic toy but it's comfortable to grasp and has a turbo-fire function which can be adjusted by sliding the buttons located on the upper right corner of the joystick.

Product Condition

NCS' remaining inventory is brand new and factory boxed in the original cardboard container with Styrofoam retainer within. The condition of the packaging is in good structural shape but please note that there are slight signs of wear and weathering caused by decades of storage. The joysticks inside are however in brand new and never-used condition. Even though they're over 20 years old at this point, the joystick and the plastic packaging are still fresh and probably eternal. PVC/ABS never dies. Please note however that the tape which NEC used on the sides of the box has yellowed, deteriorated, and disintegrated.

Orders are welcome to ship same-day (M-F) if placed before 4PM EDT.

PCE Joy Tap 3 - Sale US$16.90 Free shipping USA

NCS Product Synopsis

The PC-Engine console featured one controller port. That's it. Gamers were relegated to playing by their lonesome unless a multi-tap was used. NEC supplied an official multi-tap back in the day which allowed the use of five controllers on the PC-E. Hudson also released an official multi-tap which featured three ports for those gamers who didn't need to plug in 5 controllers at once.

NCS offers new and boxed Hudson Joy Tap 3 units from our inventory. Some of the boxes may have slight imperfections from decades of storage but are in excellent condition.

NCS Sale of the Week Offering: May 03, 2010
Original Release in Japan:
December 18, 1992
«©NCSX» Brand new and factory packaged PC-Engine Wireless Joypad for use with the PC-Engine. The controller uses 4 AA batteries and transmits signals to the included receiver which plugs into the joypad port. The wireless pad looks like a standard PC-Engine pad except it's thicker on the back side to accommodate the battery compartment and transmitter. The wireless joypad also shares the same functions as the original PC-Engine controller with a turbo function for the I and II buttons.

SOTW PC-Engine Ten No Koe 2 Bank - Clearance

NCS Sale of the Week Offering: March 01, 2010
Original Release in Japan: August 8, 1989

«©NCSX» Brand new and factory boxed Ten no Koe 2 Bank for the PC-Engine which is a save-data accessory. Back in the day when the PC-Engine was a contender, RAM was expensive so companies like NEC opted to not include any S-RAM in their consoles to keep costs down. The PC-Engine did not have any internal save-ram for data storage but the Tennokoe 2 Bank adds that function with a whopping 2K of S-Ram. You read that right. 2K. Once the Tennokoe 2 is connected to the back of the PC-Engine, games that support data-saving can now be stored to memory and the option will appear on the game's title or menu screen.
To access the menu of the Tennokoe 2 Bank, press the "SELECT" button and three options will appear (in Japanese):

(1)
View contents of RAM (2) Format RAM (erase) (3) Return to game

The Tennokoe Bank requires two AA batteries. Two AA batteries are included in the product packaging but please note that they're most likely dead since it's been over 20 years old since the Bank was released.

Product Condition
NCS' remaining inventory is brand new and factory boxed in the original cardboard container. The condition of the packaging is in excellent structural shape with no signs of wear or weathering. The Tennokoe 2 Banks are in brand new and pristine condition.

Sale Offering

Pricing per Ten no Koe 2 Bank is set at US$46.90 each. If you reside in the USA, NCS recommends USPS Ground shipping for the most economical domestic service.

Original Release in Japan: March
16, 1995
«©NCSX» Brand new and factory boxed XHE-3 MSX Controller Adapter for the PC-Engine which allows MSX joysticks and joypads to be used with the PC-Engine. Micomsoft produced a lineup of MSX controllers which were fairly popular back in the day. Instead of manufacturing a separate lineup of controllers for the PC-Engine, Micomsoft introduced the XHE-3 Adapter which bridged the MSX and PC-Engine so owners of both platforms could use a single controller on either one. The packaging lists compatibility with the Micomsoft XE-1PRO, XE-1ST2, and XE-1AP but any standard MSX controller can be used. Further, please note that Mega-Drive controllers are not fully compatible - the "B" button is not mapped but "A" and "C" work. .

SOTW PC-Engine Shuttle Memory Backup Unit - Sale

NCS Sale of the Week Offering: September 7, 2009
Original Release in Japan: November 22, 1989

«©NCSX»
When the PC-Engine first debuted in Japan on October 30, 1987, it was priced at a lofty JPY24,800 or US$269.10 as of this morning’s exchange rate. Adjusted for inflation, that’s US$461.46 in 2007 dollars. To target a less affluent customer base, NEC and Hudson released the PC-Engine Shuttle in 1989 at JPY18,800 which shipped with a modified expansion port and wasn’t compatible with the CD-Rom or Super CD-Rom. Since ram was prohibitively expensive back in the day, the Shuttle also didn’t have any way of storing save-game data... until NEC released the Shuttle Backup Unit. The unit includes a rechargeable Ni-Cad battery inside.

Product Condition
: NCS' remaining inventory is brand new and factory boxed. The condition of the cardboard boxes ranges from excellent to mint condition and the units we're selling are from our private collection.

Sale Offering
:
Pricing per memory backup unit is set at US$38.90 each. If you reside within the continental US, NCS recommends shipping by USPS Priority Mail for the most economical domestic carriage cost.

PC-Engine Super-Grafx Rom Adapter RAU-30 - Sale

NCS Sale of the Week Offering: July 20, 2009
Original Release in Japan: December 04, 1988

«©NCSX»
Whenever we locate old inventory in the dark recesses of the original warehouse, we'll wonder how well the plastic has held up over the years. Even though PVC and ABS are pretty much eternal, we're nevertheless wary of any yellowing or flaking. Other than the yellowing Hori Trackballs that we unearthed a few weeks back, everything we've found that's been manufactured with plastic has been in pristine shape.

For today's offer, NCS attempts to sell a few cases of the PC-Engine RAU-30 Rom Adapter. All inventory is brand spanking new and complete with inner styrofoam tray, original instructions in a baggie, two plastic feet, and of course the new RAU-30 adapter. Although the adapters are in mint condition, the outer cardboard packaging is less than perfect and looks rough. Cardboard simply isn't as durable as plastic as time motors onwards. The RAU-30 allows PC-Engine Super-Grafx users the means to connect the awkwardly shaped console to the CD-Rom interface (IFU-30).

Product Condition
NCS' remaining RAU-30 inventory is brand new and packaged in the original factory cardboard box. Although the contents of each RAU-30 is in perfect and brand new condition, please note that the outer cardboard box shows signs of wear, dents, and other imperfections.

Sale Offering

Pricing per PC-Engine Rom Adapter RAU-30 is set at US$59.90 each. If you reside in the USA, NCS recommends UPS Ground shipping for the most economical domestic service. International customers are encouraged to select USPS First Class Airmail at approximately US$21.

NCS Sale of the Week Offering: May 18, 2009
Original Release in Japan: December 14, 1990

«©NCSX»
New and factory sealed Violent Soldier (HuCARD) for the PC-Engine which was released roughly 2 decades ago. NCS' remaining inventory is in excellent condition but please note that the shrinkwrap is somewhat "ribbed" on the edges due to years in storage (see photos).

Sale Offering
:
Pricing per copy of Violent Soldier is set at US$32.90 each. If you reside in the USA, you may select USPS Media Mail shipping on our shop which is about $2.50. International customers are encouraged to select USPS First Class Airmail at a cost of approximately US$10 to most destinations. «Photo and Screenshot Gallery»

PC-Engine Thunder Blade HuCARD - Clearance

NCS Sale Offering: April 20, 2009
Original Release in Japan: December 07, 1990

«©NCSX»
New and factory sealed Thunder Blade HuCARD for the PC-Engine which is in excellent condition. Sega's conversion of Thunder Blade isn't exactly a 1:1 conversion but it's not too bad. When flying over the buildings in the first stage, every edifice is rickety and the backgrounds are extremely sparse but the game play itself is alright.

Sale Offering:
Pricing is set at US$30.90 per copy. If you reside in the USA, you may select USPS Media Mail shipping on our shop which is about $2.50. International customers are encouraged to select USPS First Class Airmail at a cost of approximately US$10 to most destinations. «Photo Gallery»

PC-Engine GT Com Cable - Clearance

NCS Sale Offering: April 17, 2009
Original Release in Japan: December 01, 1990

«©NCSX»
New and factory boxed PC-Engine GT Com Cable which links up two PC-Engine GT handhelds to each other. The packaging for our remaining inventory is in shoddy shape (see photos) but the cables inside are brand new, clean, and fresh. We also located some new PC-Engine GT units in our old stock but we think we're going to keep them instead of listing the units for sale. We might get nostalgic one of these days and actually want to play our collection of PC-Engine HuCARDS instead of flipping through them like baseball cards. «Photo Gallery»

Salamander HuCARD for PC-Engine - Clearance

NCS Sale Offering: April 16, 2009
Original Release in Japan: December 06, 1991

«©NCSX»
New and factory sealed copy of Salamander for the PC-Engine which is in excellent collectible condition with shiny shrinkwrap that captures the glint of the sun like water running through a bubbling brook. The game is based on the arcade original of the same name and plays a faithful rendition to it's JAMMA hardware brethren. «Photo Gallery»

The title screen allows players to choose "Beginner" or "Expert" mode. Upon starting a new game, a short tutorial lists the various power-ups and their functions such as the "Speed-Up," "Ripple Laser," and "Multiple." The first three stages that may be enjoyed are as follows:

Stage 1: Bionic Germ - Fly through a fleshy biological battlefield and shoot up a brain that sprouts arms at the end of the level.

Stage 2: Meteorite Space - The screen goes vertical and the Vic Viper blasts away at enemies, avoids asteroids, and faces off against a boss that sports arms that whirl around like a slow moving windmill.

Stage 3: Burning Chaos -
Lava fields above and below are accompanied by arcs of fire that leap across the screen. Firebirds and other flitting enemies populate the stage. The end-level boss is a fire breathing dragon that's reminiscent of the protagonist from the SFC game Syvalion.

SOTD ASCII Stick Engine - New Old Stock, Clearance

«©NCS» Before Hori took over de-facto production of third party controllers, memory cards, and accessories in Japan, ASCII was the king of the realm. In the 80s and 90s, the company commanded a healthy market share for Famicom, PC-Engine, and Super Famicom accessories.

Today, we offer PC-Engine joysticks that were originally released by ASCII on November 24, 1990. The base of the controller measures 7 3/4 x 6 5/8" and the lollipop-style joystick rises up about 2" from its foundation. Similar to a standard PC-Engine control pad, the ASCII Stick Engine features a turbo-fire function for the buttons but the level of turbo may be adjusted with by twisting two dials for button 1 and 2. «NCS Photo gallery»

PC-Engine Blaster Joypad - Clearance

NCS Sale Offering: March 30, 2009
«©NCSX»
New and factory boxed PC-Engine Blaster Joypad which was released for the Japanese market nearly 20 years ago. Although the controllers are new, the boxes have slight dings and some very minor color wear. Perhaps in a testament to the longevity of plastic however, the joypads themselves look great with shiny patinas and seem to have just shipped from the factory. Each joypad is wrapped in a little bubblewrap baggie and a 2-page user pamphlet is included inside each box. The back of the packaging lists the original retail price as JPY2880.

The Blaster is designed for use with the PC-Engine console and features the SELECT and RUN button on the center of the controller while the III, II, and I buttons are located on the right side of the pad. Each button may be empowered with turbo-fire by adjusting the slide lever above each one.

Sale Offering
Pricing is set at US$18.90 per
PC-Engine Blaster Joypad. If you reside in the USA, you may select USPS Media Mail shipping on our shop which is about $2.50. International customers are encouraged to select USPS First Class Airmail at a cost of approximately US$10.
