Static Arts Kingdom Hearts II Riku - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Whereas the Static Arts Kingdom Hearts II sculpture of Sora was bright and chipper, Riku's Static Arts rendition is somber. Another descriptor might be "morose" but there's a reason for that. According to Kingdom Hearts lore, Riku was possessed by Xehanort's Heartless and summarily afflicted with Darkness in his heart. As such, Riku is generally a somber and morose kind of hero.

Square Enix starts preorders for a Riku statue which measures 30cm or 11.81" tall. Riku stands on top of a crag and wields a Keyblade called the

"Way to the Dawn" which was his weapon of choice in KHII. The sculpture shows the angel and demon wings around the blade's handle and a Heartless pendant may be seen swinging from the bottom of the weapon. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late March 2009.

Static Arts Final Fantasy VII Cloud Strife - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Every time we see Cloud, he seems to look slightly different from his original depiction in the original Final Fantasy VII game. Back in 1997, Cloud was a punk kid with a shock of blonde hair, a boyish physique, and baggy pants. In ensuing incarnations, Cloud either got grungier as seen in Kingdom Hearts or more feminine as shown in the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children film.

For Square Enix's upcoming Static Arts Final Fantasy VII rendition of Cloud Strife, the popular hero is decidedly retro. As in, reflecting the design sensibilities of the original Cloud as sketched and illustrated by Tetsuya Nomura. Cloud's face is sharply cut and his hair is best described as a haphazard sculpture of blond locks. A regulation-issue uniform, brown boots, and a big Buster Sword round out the feature set of the figure. For the backdrop, Cloud stands on wooden planks and is "bathed" in the protective light of Aerith's church. Yellow flowers sprout at his feet while a hazy mist spreads along the planks. Dimensions: 9.24 x 6.5 x 13.25"

Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late May 2009 at JPY14800 or US$138.90 from NCS. Due to the size of the Static Arts statue, NCS recommends only shipping by UPS Ground within the United States. Please note this item will incur dimensional weight if shipped by any air service.

Vagabond Sculpture Arts Seijuro Statue - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» In the Vagabond manga, Takehiko Inoue recreated the glorified life and times of the swordsman Musashi Miyamoto as told by novelist Eiji Yoshikawa. On his travels, Musashi met and disemboweled many warriors and fellow sword handlers. One of Musashi's opponents was a dandy named Yoshioka Seijuro whose family ran the Yoshioka School for up and coming swordfighters. When Seijuro and Musashi duel, the match ends up with Seijuro's defeat due to a crushed shoulder but he gets to live. The rest of the Yoshioka clan however won't give up against Musashi and he eventually slaughters the entire Yoshioka family including an 11-year old named Genjiro. Since Seijuro survived a battle with Musashi, he gets sculpted into a polyresin statue from SQEX which measures 8.5" tall. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late April 2008.
