Supercell Featuring Hatsune Miku: World is Mine - Preorder

«©NCSX» Miku Hatsune is a Princess nonpareil. A proper Princess lies on purple and black satiny sheets that are decorated like a chessboard. She also stares out at the world with self-satisfied contempt for those who would worship her. Miku wears a white slip, a miniskirt, and thigh high boots that are glossy and reflective with a mirror-like finish. That's royalty. Sort of.

From humble beginnings in the Vocaloid2 software, Miku has become a merchandising superstar in Japan. Popular characters tend to experience a snowball effect where their fame keeps rolling onwards. It's unclear if Miku will reach mythic status in a few years but we think she has a good chance and all the toys being released now might be sought after by future generations. The latest Miku Hatsune product is a Supercell which features a 3D figure that's mounted within a picture frame. It's like 3D artwork that protrudes from flat canvas into the world at large with form and substance. Preorders are welcome to ship in late Sep 2009 at JPY8381 or US$90.90.

My Effin' Einstein - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» First of all, it's not really "My Effin' Einstein" and the real product title from the manufacturer uses the "F" word. We're reluctant to use profanity on the website so we're substituting a close approximation. In any case, the Einstein toy from glamsenses Crowds of Hoods is sculpted by an artist dubbed "Lucky Rudy" and is made of PVC.
For a bit of background, there's a photo of Albert Einstein where the famous physicist sticks his tongue out and gives a photographer named Arthur Sasse the proverbial literal raspberry. Einstein's expression in that photograph is sculpted into the MEE figure but there's something more. Einstein pulls a Van Gogh or maybe a Yakuza move where he severs his pinky finger from his left hand. A tourniquet is also applied on the finger to stem the flow of blood while specks of blood are splattered on Einstein's hand. Nice. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2009 at JPY6500 or US$69.90 from NCS.

Hyakka Ryoran Samurai Girls: Yagyu Jubei 1/8 Scale Figure

«©NCSX» Yagyuu Jubei Mitsuyoshi is a legendary samurai whose life and times have been chronicled and fictionalized by numerous written works, manga, and television series. Jubei is a male figure (trust us, we checked) from Japanese history but in a few months, you'll be able to check him out in the persona of a girl. Not just any girl though - Jubei has become a ginger with an attractive figure and a sassy attitude. She also has a thick length of braided white rope attached to her back.

The upcoming
Hyakka Ryoran Samurai Girls: Yagyu Jubei 1/8 Scale Figure is the result of a partnership between Hobby Japan Magazine and Alter. The design for Jubei is by Niθ (にしー)who's employed by Nitro+ and has worked on Jingai Makyo, DemonBane, and Moon Phase among others. The figure is made of PVC and is sculpted to 1/8 scale and measures 22cm or 8.66" tall. Preorders are welcome to ship in late August 2009 at JPY7800 or US$78.90 from NCS.
