Sonshi no Heihou DS - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» In the Art of War by Sun Tzu, the author states that "All warfare is based on deception." One example from history is Castro's use of deception against his enemies and even his supporters to engineer the Cuban Revolution. Another example is the massive amount of propaganda used in World War II by both sides of the conflict.

The lesson of deception and other tactics used in war are all contained within the Sonshi no Heihou DS game card from Media-5 which presents the complete Art of War book in electronic format. You can sit down and read the book (in Japanese) but if you're weary of reading, a narration feature is available where a clear Japanese speaking voice reads the text so you can close your eyes and listen/absorb/learn. Preorders are welcome to ship on May 21, 2009 at JPY3800 or US$39.90 from NCS.

Ayrton Senna 1/6 Scale Fine Art Statue - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Ayrton Senna was a successful race car driver who won six Monaco GP races and numerous Grand Prix races around the world. Senna died in a racing accident on May 01, 1994 in the San Marino GP which lead to a trial against the Williams racing team who had built and modified Senna's car. The culprit in Senna's accident was suspected to be the modified steering column in a trial held in Italy but the Williams team was acquitted of all charges.

In his homeland of Brazil, Senna is a beloved figure. Outside of Brazil, the country that loves Ayrton Senna like one of its own is Japan. Manufacturer Kotobukiya has started preorders for a statue which celebrates Senna's 1993 victory at the Japan Grand Prix -Suzuka- where he drove for McLaren. The statue is sculpted to 1/6 scale and measures 35cm or 13.77" tall. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2009 at JPY21000 or US$225.90 from NCS.

Relakkuma Sherbet Maker - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» Back in the day*, ice cream makers for home-based use were rickety and not very good. We recall one motorized ice cream contraption that was shaped like a fat thermos with an inner cylinder that spun when powered up. It made a noise that was strangely similar to a lawnmower but twice as scary. The device required salt, ice, and assorted ingredients to create a quart of ice cream. Instead of ice cream as the end product however, we got a slurry of ice chips and dilute milky matter. Over the years, the quality of the machines has improved and we're able to make honest to goodness ice cream, sherbet, and other frozen treats in the office kitchen. The machines still make a lot of noise but at least the results are worth the din.

System Service has announced a Sherbet Maker that features a Relakkuma or
Korilakkuma design and is powered by hand crank. In case you didn't know, only three ingredients are necessary to create sherbet: Sugar, baking soda, and citric acid. Mix them together so the soda and acid start fizzing and proceed to eat. Additional flavors may be added to the base sherbet foundation but note that only dry ingredients should be used. Preorders for the Relakkuma Sherbet Maker are welcome to ship in mid-late July 2009 at JPY15.90 each.

* The term "
back in the day" as used by the NCS Corporation refers to an ephemeral period of time that could be as much as 20 years ago or as little as 10 years ago. It is a purposely nebulous descriptor meant to bring readers back to a time that was perhaps more innocent and less sophisticated than what we know as the "current day."
