
«©NCSX» Ayrton Senna was a successful race car driver who won six Monaco GP races and numerous Grand Prix races around the world. Senna died in a racing accident on May 01, 1994 in the San Marino GP which lead to a trial against the Williams racing team who had built and modified Senna's car. The culprit in Senna's accident was suspected to be the modified steering column in a trial held in Italy but the Williams team was acquitted of all charges.
In his homeland of Brazil, Senna is a beloved figure. Outside of Brazil, the country that loves Ayrton Senna like one of its own is Japan. Manufacturer Kotobukiya has started preorders for a statue which celebrates Senna's 1993 victory at the Japan Grand Prix -Suzuka- where he drove for McLaren. The statue is sculpted to 1/6 scale and measures 35cm or 13.77" tall. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2009 at JPY21000 or US$225.90 from NCS.
