«©NCSX» The first volume of Shooting Gameside magazine which was released late last year sold well enough for the publisher to continue with a second volume which shipped in Japan last week. The new issue includes more shooter coverage and general shooting love as follows:

● p04-23 Gradius retrospective which looks at all the games in the series as follows: Gradius (1985), Salamander (1986), Life Force (1987), Gradius II (1988), Gradius III (1989), Salamander 2 (1996), Gradius Gaiden (1997), Gradius IV (1999), and Gradius V (2004). Each game gets 2 pages of screenshots, artwork, and text

X360 Eschatos - New Import

NCS Product Synopsis

«©NCSX» Eschatos is a Greek word which means "the last" and can be properly used to refer to the beginning of space beyond the bounds of the Earth. Now that word etymology is out of the way, the game Eschatos tells the story of an invasion from outer space. In the year 21XX, waves of UFOs descend upon the Earth in an aggressive manner. To confront the threat, a single space fighter is sent to defend the planet from all-out attack. Why only one space fighter to face an entire armada of UFOs? Well, because it's got skills to attack enemies through 26 stages.

    Said space fighter throws out two types of shots: a powerful "Forward Shot" which fires directly in front of the ship and a "Wide Shot" which unleashes streams of lasers in a 90º arc in front of the ship. The wide shot covers more area but is less concentrated than the forward shot. In addition to its offensive capabilities, the ship can also block enemy shots by activating a temporary shield. When the shield is on, the ship cannot fire shots but the shield destroys enemies upon contact. 

 

Two bonus games are included on the Eschatos DVD as follows:

» Judgement Silversword- Vertical shooter developed by M-KAI
» Cardinal Sins - An updated version of Judgement Silversword

    Judgement Silversword was released on the Wonderswan portable but Cardinal Sins was only available as a download for the WonderWitch development kit. The first printing of the game includes a bonus CD soundtrack titled "Eschatos & Silver Sword Sound Chronicle" which contains 20 tracks from the two games.

Import Delays    The following Japanese imports have been confirmed to be delayed due to the recent events in Japan. Our suppliers in Japan are also not working at optimal capacity because of what's happening in Fukushima and the attendant contamination. Please note that neither PSP Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection nor 3DS Gundam the 3D Battle reached our suppliers yesterday even though the games appear to be on schedule for this week. We'll update again tomorrow with an update.
