«©NCSX» In the recent Suzumiya Haruhi PSP game, the heroine of the series charged the SOS- Brigade with the production of a movie. In the Playstation 2 Suzumiya Haruhi game, the SOS-Bridgade's new challenge is the creation of a video game worthy of Haruhi's refined taste and esteemed judgment. 

Three types of video games may be created for Haruhi as follows:

1) An RPG in the style of the olden 8-bit Dragon Quest games
2) A tactical strategy game that's a clone of the Super Robot Wars titles
3) A Princess Maker-esque game where a girl such as Mikuru is raised

   Players take on the role of Kyon and the game is viewed from his perspective but the other members of the SOS-Brigade are fair game as everyone cooperates to create the perfect video game.

   The limited edition of Suzumiya Haruhi no Tomadoi is packaged with a bonus FIGMA Suzumiya Haruhi posable action figure from Max Factory which includes an extra Haruhi head, eight extra hands, a blade weapon, and a mounting stand.

«©NCSX» What do you get when you mix Suzumiya Haruhi with Idol Master? Conjure up images of dancing girls backed up by ear-piercing J-Pop and you have the general idea behind both games. In the case of the new Suzumiya title, it's one to three girls on impromptu stages with choreographed moves that's strangely mesmerizing. Once you begin watching, you can't take your eyes off the theatrics. Sort of like watching a car accident or a drunken bum fight in the middle of some metropolitan nowhere.

The dancers are Yuki Nagato, Suzumiya Haruhi, and Mikuru Asahina and their moves are basically syncopated together with Suzumiya or another girl serving as the lead superstar. To succeed in the game, players watch the cue area on the bottom of the screen and wave the Wii Remote at the right time to control Haruhi so she dances in time to the music.

A Free Mode in the game allows gamers to choose the music, the high school background where the girls dance, and the costumes that they wear. A Gallery Mode features character models of the girls along with animations that you can select to watch them perform moves. «Notes»

«©NCSX» The impish Haruhi of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya fame isn't your average high student student. She's into peculiar stuff and can alter reality thanks to her paranormal powers. Despite Haruhi's unconventional interests and abilities, her outward appearance is like that of an average schoolgirl who wears a white/blue school uniform. Haruhi has been rendered into a number of forms and Alter joins the toy parade.

Alter's Haruhi Suzumiya 1/8 School Uniform Figure is set to 1/8 scale and measures 18cm or 7.08" tall. The sculpture is by Hiroshi Inagaki whose skills are evident when inspecting the figure since Haruhi's clothing looks like soft cotton despite being carved from PVC. Haruhi wears her high school uniform and perches on her left leg while her right leg kicks backwards for the illusion of movement in the figure. A school bag is latched to Haruhi's right shoulder and a bright yellow ribbon circles the top of her head. Haruhi and friends board a luxury cruise liner where they tackle a 3D action-adventure filled with interactive sequences. As the story goes, the cruise ship enters a time loop that keeps the passengers busy with a series of scenarios that constantly replay themselves. To break the time loop, Haruhi must find little differences in each scenario so that the story progresses to the next chapter. Preorders ship on March 26, 2009.

Haruhi Suzumiya 1/7 Scale Beach Figure - Import Preorder

When NCS first met Haruhi Suzumiya about 4 years ago, we assumed she was too scrawny to fill out a bikini. She was also too chicken-legged-like but that's another story for another day. In Kotobukiya's upcoming Beach Side Figure, Haruhi stuns us because she not only fills out a bikini adequately but her chicken legs aren't so chicken-like anymore. Masterful PVC sculpting tends to bring about miracles.

Haruhi's default costume is a yellow top which matches the golden ribbon on her head. She also wears a black bikini bottom but the yellow top may be doffed to reveal a black bikini underneath. Her pose is more Race Queen than Queen of the Paranormal but like we said, masterful PVC sculpting brings about miracles. Haruhi is set at 1/7 scale and measures 15cm or 5.90" tall.
