PS2 Zero Shikikan Josentoki Ni Limited Edition - Import Sale $58.90

NCS Product Synopsis
Update: February 23, 2006
Take to the skies once again in a WWII zero fighter and change the course of history with successful completion of aerial missions and combat strafing runs. History changing missions that may be experienced include the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the sinking of the Yamato battleship, and many more missions for a total of 35 runs which is an additional 7 extra missions over the original Zero Shikikan game. Although the game only allows the use of a single Zero fighter at the outset of the game, there are a total of 60 fighters to be used in the missions once they're unlocked. Jet fighters featured in the game include the P-51, B-29 Bomber, Messerschmitt, and more from all components of the Axis and Allies including the USA, Great Britain, Germany, USSR, and Japan.
Two main game modes are available: MISSION MODE and VS MODE. To get your bearings, the early MISSIONs are relatively simple to maneuver through and achieve victory. The enemy fighters don't aggressively go after the player and just sort of fly through the air in a lazy formation. That's your cue to take each fighter out one by one. Mission Mode is the meat of the game with 36 missions to participate in which progressively ramp up in difficulty and the VS Mode which allows two players to engage in dogfights and strafe each other.

The Limited Edition of Zero Shikikan Josentoki 2 includes the following bonus item which is packaged with the game DVD in a medium-size cardboard box:
An Taito exclusive Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero which is made to 1/100 scale and features four engineers and technicians who doff their caps to greet aerial visitors and a pilot who stands near the propeller. For a little bit of realism, the wings of the plane are worn with paint chips to show that the pilot's been busy. A trio of fuel drums are situated behind the plane. Everything is mounted on a display base which reads "Tsubasa Collection 1/100 JAPANESE FIGHTER SERIES." According to the literature, the Zero hails from the 203rd Air Group.
