NCS Product Synopsis.
«©NCSX» SaGa 3 was originally released on the Japanese Gameboy (black and white O.G.) in December 1991. That was the dark ages of portable gaming when players had to squint at the monochrome GBA screen and attempt to battle monsters at the same time. It wasn't pretty but fast forward 20 years and SaGa 3 is brand new again.
The Nintendo DS remake of SaGa 3: Jikuu no Hasha - Shadow or Light is easily viewable on the lit screen of the Nintendo DS and the visuals are rendered in cel-shaded 3D which is a far cry from the 2D flatness of the original. In the game, players take on the role of a spiky-haired lad who leads a group of heroes on a time-traveling quest to stop a world-ruining flood. In addition to the visual and aural upgrades in the remake, a new NPC named "Wanderer" helps the hero's party out during the course of the adventure.
