PS3 Kung-Fu Rider - Import Preorder

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Get your chop-socky on with Sony's upcoming Kung-Fu Rider which plants players upon an office chair with wheels. Not an aesthetically pleasing Aeron but the squat old school kind of chair that's found in old-timers' offices. The chair isn't situated safely in an office setting but on the mean streets of an Asian metropolis filled with shanty shops and cluttered streets where fearless pedestrians saunter beneath the shining sun. Then there are the Chinese Triad gangsters decked out in their natty suits, Terminator sunglasses, and the ingrained DFWM attitude. They look like they're going to be trouble.

The gangsters' collective bad attitude isn't going to be your problem however. You don't have the inclination to coddle them or accede to their demands. No, you're rolling down the street on an office chair and you'll be damned if goons are going to ruin your ride. You're going to kick and slap your way through all obstacles and opposition by using the Playstation Move. By making motions with the Move in front of the Playstation Eye, players contort the onscreen protagonist into lean-back positions, kicks, and double kicks. Gamers can also grind rails like Tony Hawk, grab big air, and perform spins on the chair as it hurtles down the byways and throughways of Hong Kong.

Questions & Answers
Q: I thought this game was based in Japan?
Nah, it's Hong Kong. Peruse some of the screenshots on the net and look at the signage on the shops. See those squiggly lines that sort of look like broken Spaghetti-Os? That's Chinese. For more evidence, look for the screenshot of the older guy on the side who's standing in front of a shop wearing a white tanktop. That's authentic Hong Kong right there.

Q: The male protagonist looks like Travis Touchdown from NMH!
Yep, that's Tobio and he's an office buster employee. The girl who bears some resemblance to Chun-Li is named Karin and she's Tobio's secretary. They're both running from the Triads.

Q: They're not running from the Yakuza?
Are you implying that all Triad members and Yakuza look alike?

Q: What's the difference?
Yakuza are Japanese gangsters who operate primarily in Japan. The Triads are Chinese gangsters who operate primarily in Hong Kong and China. Other than the difference in the racial identity of the Japanese and Chinese criminal fraternity, their languages are also different.

Preorders for the Playstation 3 import Kung-Fu Rider are welcome to ship on October 21, 2010 at JPY3800 or US$48.90 from NCS.
