NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Once while at the Tisch Children's Zoo in Central Park, we heard a worker say to a little kid, "I never met a sheep I didn't like" in a joking manner. We assumed he meant that sheep are docile and innocuous animals who are content to graze, get their fleece sheared, and stand together with other members of the flock in a non-threatening manner. Anyone with a kind heart and a little love for animals would be amenable to the presence of sheep. We're just hoping he didn't mean that he enjoyed the intimate companionship of sheep.
The Tisch Zoo also had goats, peacocks, pigs, and alpacas. The alpaca is similar to a sheep in that its coat may be sheared and carted off to make material used in industry. One difference from the sheep we noticed is that the alpaca we saw at the zoo seemed a little ornery. One of them even spat a wad of juice at someone. Japanese toy manufacturer had a choice between sculpting a sheep toy and an alpaca toy. The alpaca won. The Doki Doki Animal Series Alpaca measures 11cm or 4.33" tall and looks a lot cleaner than the beasts we saw at the zoo. Pricing is set at JPY1000 or US$14.90 from NCS and preorders ship in mid-late December 2009.
