Have you ever spied an unidentified flying object in the sky that you couldn't make rhyme or reason out of? Maybe it was a bird or perhaps it was a plane but you couldn't confirm it either way. In New York, we've seen parachute jumpers, acrobatic planes, and we once watched a guy in a hot air balloon sail across the Adirondacks. We've never seen a UFO however but maybe we'll be able to prompt "sightings" and news reports of UFOs by unleashing Taito's UFO-One toys in downtown Manhattan.
The UFO-One is a classic saucer-shaped vehicle with yellow or red lights that circle its perimeter. Two rotary blades are mounted on top of the saucer which creates the air lift required to send it flying into the air. The control of the UFO is handled through a hand-held remote control which is fitted with an analog thumbstick. Taito's preorder literature specifically states that the UFO-One is designed for indoor use but we're going to try flying them outdoors anyway once we get them. Preorders are welcome to ship in September 2008 at US$22.90 each.
