Falcom's famous Vantage Master game was originally released in 1997 and captivated gamers with its addictive and challenging gameplay. In VM, players choose a hero known as a Master who can summon discarnates with elemental alignments called Natials. By teaming up with a Natial, the Master battles opponents on grid-laced battlefields to become the top dog in the world of summoning. Each Master and Natial only has 10 HP and the goal is to knock an opponent's HP to 0 before he does the same to your protagonist. Upon starting the adventure, a series of four questions is poised to the player which decide the type of summoner he becomes in the game. Classes include well-traveled archetypes such as Fighter, Knight, Thief, and Magician along with unique classes such as Fraulein, Fugitive, Sister, and Savage.
The PSP conversion of Vantage Master is based on the original game and four modes are available as follows:
Scenario Mode: Battle opposing Masters across 30 stages
Expert Mode: Use a fully-powered Master to battle on harsh terrain
Free Battle: Adjust the settings and play options to fit your preference
Network Battle: Link up with other players to engage in Master battles
Characters from Falcom's Sora no Kiseki (Joshua Bright, Sarah Bright) appear in the game for a smidge of PSP exclusivity.
