The NY Yankees are leading the American League East here in the States and the Yomiuri Giants are ruling the Central League standings over in Japan. In other baseball news, Konami releases another volume in what's probably the longest running baseball game series in the industry. Yep, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu or big-head-baseball has been around for nearly 20 years and NCS has watched it grow, develop, and get refined into a multi-console franchise that has endured the test of time.

Upon starting the game, a snazzy introductory sequence plays where animated baseball players with big eyes and no mouths go to bat, pitch, and play the game for an enthusiastic throng. Towards the middle of the introduction, fireworks start blowing up to add to the theatrics. Fireworks are cool. The 2010 edition of Jikkyou Powerful Pro for the PSP features all 12 Japanese professional teams and their respective stadiums in which they'll play. The usual game modes return including "Pennant Mode" where players reach for the post-season and "My Life" which places gamers in the shoes of a rookie who's just starting his career in the world of professional baseball. The PoTaCa Card System also makes its return where in-game trading cards are used to unlock special Pro Yakyu 2010 features. PoTaCa cards are also used to imbue baseball players with improved skills and abilities across the various game modes. The "Success Mode" of the game allows players to choose a pro team and enjoy a season-long baseball scenario that's unique for each squad.

PSP Momotarou Dentetsu Tag Match Yuujou - New Import

«©NCSX» Previous games in the Momotarou Dentetsu franchise pitted a solo player against other participants in a relentless race for wealth. That lonely sort of entrepreneurship ends with Hudson's new "Tag Match" version of Momotarou where a team cooperates and collaborates to build a business empire faster than a a rival team. Players may engage in 2-vs-2 challenges or a 1-vs-3 contest where one savvy businessman attempts to outmaneuver a team of three competitors. That one businessman would be alone again (naturally) but perhaps some hustlers thrive on loneliness.

Similar to earlier Momotetsu games, players travel across the expanse of Japan by rail with the goal of buying real estate and building up capital reserves. More capital means the wherewithal to purchase more property which in turn leads to more capital. Momotetsu is played in board game format where every player throws a die (that's singular for dice) and the resultant number is the amount of spaces that one may move. On each location on the play board, an event occurs or a property may be bought for a listed amount of yen. The size of the play map sprawls larger than the areas found in the recent versions of Momotetsu on the Nintendo DS (3.3X larger than Momotaro Dentetsu DS: TOKYO & JAPAN and 2.5X larger than Momotaro Dentetsu 20th Anniversary) so there'll be properties galore to procure. An assemblage of new events, properties, characters, and a new adversary named Tsurugi Bombee make their debut in the game. For multiple player tag-team antics, up to four gamers may play a short version of Momotetsu by linking up via ad hoc mode with 1 copy of the game.

«©NCSX» Starting this year, Konami's Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu game series graduates from the Playstation 2 to the Playstation 3. The PS2 had a great run but all console generations must die eventually and give way to new turks. The PS3 will serve as the default big-console-platform for future Pro Yakyu games.

The 2010 edition of Jikkyou Powerful Pro for the PSP features all 12 Japanese professional teams and their respective stadiums in which they'll play. NDS Fire Emblem Shin Monshou no Nazo Hikari to Kage Eiyuu

«©NCSX» A century after the empire of Durhua was destroyed, the Dark Dragon Mediuth has been resurrected. Quickly building alliances with the kingdoms of Macedonia and Grunia, Mediuth brings Durhua back on the warpath. The first to fall is Akaneia followed by the conquest of the Ariteia Kingdom. The 14-year old prince of Ariteia named Marth flees and resolves fight another day. His destination is the island of Talis where he marshals forces and hatches plans to take back Ariteia from the Dark Dragon.

Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo was originally released on the Super Famicom in 1994 and Nintendo remakes the game for the Nintendo DS. New features include a conversation system for backstory and new scenarios. Please note Fire Emblem is region-locked for the Nintendo DSi and DSiLL but region-free for standard Nintendo DS and Lite handhelds.

In the new Keshikasu-kun video game from Konami, an incident at school caused by a dark lord sends Keshikasu on a mission of discovery, exploration, and 100 fighting-themed mini-games. The chalk-colored eraser engages in various events and battles rival stationary products such as pencils, paperclips, rubber stamps, and other uppity instruments from stores named Office Depot and Staples. In addition to using the stylus to smack down enemies, Keshikasu-kun occasionally requires a burst of air in some mini-games and that's your cue to blow into the microphone with gale-force winds.

NDS Odoru Daisousasen The Game Sensuikan ni Sennyuu Seyo!

«©NCSX» Shunsaku Aoshima was a computer salesman who became dissatisfied with the business of peddling products. Aoshima decides to change careers and enters the police force after being trained as a detective. He's assigned to the Wangan Police Department by a board of elderly police officials who express some doubts as to his qualifications. However, there's a shortage of policemen in Japan and they grudgingly send him to Wangan to be a jurisdictional officer.

The Oforu Daisosasen (Bayside Shakedown) television series and movies were very popular in Japan and "The Game" adaptation arrives this week in Japan. In the game, players take on the role of Shunsaku who battles the monsters of bureaucracy, professional animosity, apathy, and general inefficiency in the Japanese crime fighting ranks.
