General Updates

Japan Holiday, No Famitsu Most of our suppliers in Japan started their summer holiday earlier in the week but they'll be back on August 19. Weekly Famitsu is also skipping an issue this week for their own holiday but we'll receive volume #1029 on August 22. Although there isn't an official holiday in Hong Kong, a number of our vendors within Asia took their summer holidays this week since this period is considered the summer doldrums.

Monday Preview Taito opened up preorders for Space Invaders-themed mini skateboards last night but we'll begin accepting reservations on Monday. We'll also begin accepting preorders for the Konamistyle version of Castlevania Order of Ecclesia on Monday once we confirm the amount we'll be able to import from assorted suppliers.

Since Yujin appears to be releasing the ships in some sort of chronological order, we might not see the Judge Spear or the Silvergun until SGH Vol. 4. The toys are normally sold randomly in Japan inside gashapon machines but we're gathering together all six ships into a complete set so our customers can collect them all without having to suffer the pain and annoyance of unwanted duplicates.

The Shooting Historica Gashapon Vol. 2 toy is a new and authentic Japanese product. NCS only stocks original and official products from authorized dealers in Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States.

Price Change
Fuel surcharges were assessed on our shipment of this product and NCS is raising the price for new orders to US$26.90 from $25.00. If you preordered or submitted a new order for the toys prior to August 14, 2008, we will honor the original price of US$25.00 for the complete set of six.

General Updates

GA-KO Alarm Clock Again All backorders for the GA-KO Alarm Clock will ship today. Stock is available for new orders to ship this afternoon. With today's shipment, NCS expects to keep the GA-KO Alarm Clock in stock up until the holiday season.

Mother 3 - Bye Bye NCS kept GBA Mother 3 in stock for over two years but we finally sold our last copy last night. They're all gone despite our negative review of the game and the subsequent hate mail. Total quantity sold in those two years: 860 copies of the game and 120 sets of the Mother 3 GBA bundle. Eight sets of the GBA bundle were damaged during shipping from Japan but we were able to sell them at a reduced price. For a while, we thought we'd have the game in stock forever but little by little, box by box, the supply of the game eventually petered out. Thanks to everyone who helped clear out our inventory.

KORG DS-10 Synthesizer Another batch of NDS KORG DS-10 arrived today and any remaining backorders will ship today. Update: Sold out again. Restock soon.

Yujin's latest shooting gashapon toys arrived late this morning and we're in the process of assembling complete sets so we can begin shipping preorders today. However, please note that there is an additional ship that we received in the factory boxes and bags which was not mentioned in Yujin's preorder offer - it's a Musha Aleste robot.

Since our original preorder was only for a set of 5 toys at US$20.90, we are asking customers to re-confirm their preorders if they wish to add the sixth toy (Musha Aleste robot) for a complete set. If you wish to include the sixth toy, the revised cost for the set of six will be US$25.00 + shipping.

An email has been sent to everyone on our preorder list with information on the sixth toy. Please re-confirm at your earliest convenience and we will ship your order today. Macross Ace Frontier - Import Preorder

Whenever a new Macross game is announced, there's generally a good amount of fanfare since the brand is well known and beloved by international fan base. The buzz has been building in Japan over the past couple of weeks and Bandai's latest Macross game is another 3D mission-based shooting game. Players take control of a Valkyrie which can transform into three forms - gerwalk, jet fighter, and robot.

The Macross franchises featured in Macross Ace Frontier are as follows:

Over 40 Valkyries may be piloted in the game including the YF-19, VF-1S Strike Valkyrie, VF-19, YF-21, and the VF-1J. The Valkyries may be upgraded and customized during the course of the missions. Roughly 30 characters from the Macross universe also appear for dramatic foil. To enhance the atmosphere of the game world, Bandai also throws in speech snippets and a number of classic songs from the various Macross series.

In addition to solo play, up to four gamers may link up wirelessly for a cooperative game where four Valkyries tackle mission objectives. Preorders for Macross Ace are welcome to ship on October 9, 2008.
