TOYS Star Wars Light Saber Kei Oritatami Kasa - Import Preorder

«©NCSX» A few years ago, NCS stocked a Star Wars Light Saber Umbrella from Happinet that can best be described as a "big ass umbrella" which featured an image of Darth Vader. When May 2010 rolls around, Taito will release another Star Wars umbrella which is the telescoping type. In its native form, the umbrella measures a mere 30cm (11.81") in length but press a single button and the umbrella shoots upwards and outwards in a rain-shielding polyester bloom that measures 95cm or 37.40" in diameter. Three images are printed onto the fabric of the umbrella: the Death Star, an X-Wing Fighter, and the Millennium Falcon. Preorders ship in May 2010.

«©NCSX» Cats and frogs don't mix. We know this because frogs live in ponds and laze upon lily pads while felines generally don't hang around large bodies of water. Despite the differences, Eikoh stitches Hello Kitty into a frog costume. Not one frog costume. Four frog costumes. From the left of the product photo and moving right, the colors are: lime green, aqua blue, pastel pink, and violet. Just violet. Each plush measures 16cm or 6.29" tall and roughly 9cm or 3.54" in width. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late May 2010 at JPY800 or US$13.90 each from NCS.

TOYS Final Fantasy XI Taru Taru Trading Arts - New, In Stock

«©NCSX» The Taru Taru race featured in Final Fantasy XI reminds us of the Ewoks in Star Wars except the Taru Taru are less furry and a little smarter. They're both munchkin-like, adorable, somewhat pudgy, and battle back with fierce wherewithal when confronted with danger.

The next set of Final Fantasy Trading Arts toys feature the various Taru Taru characters we've met in Final Fantasy XI in all of their diminutive stature. From the left of the photo and moving right, they are:

» Star Sibyl - Clairvoyant leader of the Taru Taru in Windurst
» Robel-Akbel - Armored Warlock Warlord with a penchant for magic

Square Enix is supplying the toys in factory boxes which contain 9 figures which are arranged in a 3x3 configuration inside. Buyers will receive the four characters listed above and 1 secret Taru Taru. The box also contains four duplicates which you can sell, trade, or stare at.

The Taru Taru figures are fixed pose and measure between 5.5-6.0cm (2.16-2.36") tall and are constructed of PVC. Please note that NCS is currently only supplying the Japanese version of the Taru Taru toys which are sold in a box of 9 figures. Square USA will be releasing the toys stateside as well but only for the four standard figures that are pictured in the photo to the upper left at US$25/set.

PSP Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's Portable: The Battle of Aces

«©NCSX» In the original Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha animated series, Nanoha Takamachi and Fate Testarossa were feuding magic users vying for magical objects called Jewel Seeds. Nanoha was good and while Fate wasn't bad, she was compelled to be "bad" by her mother Precia Testarossa. In the second series titled Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's, Fate and Nanoha have settled their differences but things aren't hunky dory. The two magical girls encounter a quartet of Belkan Knights known as the "Wolkenritter" (Names: Shamal, Signum, Vita, and Zafira) who are hell-bent on robbing the magical mojo from other magic users. Their goal is to complete the pages of the Book of Darkness so a wheelchair-bound girl Hayate Yagami can survive and be granted one wish. The PSP game "Battle of Aces" is based on the second series of the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical animation.

In the Battle of Aces game, Nanoha and cohorts face off against each other in a 3D fighting game where melee attacks, magic blasts and combos light up the screen. The cast of nine fighters is made up of Nanoha, Fate, Shamal, Signum, Vita, Zafira, Chrono, Hayate, and Reinforce. In the Single Mode, two fighters battle inside a ring of sorts which limits movement range of the combatants so that an opponent can't fly off into the distance. Before each battle, the fighters may be customized with 18 possible options such as "MP Guard," "Drive EX C," "Cross Range POW," and "Shield Breaker." The Ad Hoc Mode allows two players to fight it out wirelessly and the Gallery Mode contains a selection of CG and 3D character models to peruse.
